Medic 6 reported the trooper was struck in the head by a "duck" that came through the windshield of the chopper. He didn't lose consciousness and was vitally stable en route to Regions around 12:15 a.m
An officer advised dispatch that an escort to the hospital wasn't needed, that medics would transport the injured trooper, who was reportedly struck in the head. It was apparently multiple birds that hit the chopper while it was in the air
Saint Paul officers requested to the downtown airport after a bird reportedly flew through the window of a State Patrol helicopter, "Trooper 8", & damaged the aircraft. Officers are on scene now to provide an escort to the hospital if needed. Extent of damage unclear
