It happened just before 8:50 a.m. at the intersection of Goodhue County Road 1 Boulevard and Highway 60, a Minnesota State Patrol crash report states
The Hopkins Police Department said in a media release that the unattached line allowed gas to leak into the residence and eventually ignite. The source of the ignition is unknown, but the fire was deemed accidental, authorities said
Authorities say the house explosion in Hopkins late last month that left a man and woman dead was caused by a gas line that was not reattached after a water heater installation. Herb and Sharon Vassar, both in their 80s, died from the blast
