10 months ago 5th Precinct responded to the report of a shooting at 27th St E and Nicollet Ave. When officers arrived, they were informed that a person injured by gunfire had been taken to a residence on the 2600 block of 3rd Ave S. At that residence, officers identified an 18-year-old male with life-threatening gunshot wounds. Officers provided medical aid until the injured teen was transported by ambulance to Hennepin Health. Despite all lifesaving efforts, the teen later died at the hospital.
