Brooklyn Park police are investigating what is believed to be a murder-suicide after two adults were found dead inside an apartment around 6 a.m. - Gunshots were reported inside the building & police say a suspect had barricaded the unit's door before SWAT found the two inside
The pedestrian who died after being struck at 9th and Marquette on Monday has been identified as Stephan Michael Rice, 62, of Burnsville. Manner of death is blunt force & sharp injuries, and police are still investigating. The driver is in custody but has not been charged

It sounds like one other child was injured in this incident. They were transported to the hospital with apparent non-life-threatening injuries. Officers were contacting Child Protective Services after they took the suspect into custody

Officers cleared the rest of the residence, set up a perimeter and detained the apparent mother of the children after she reportedly fought with officers several times outside the residence. Two other children were found by officers, apparently uninjured
