MPD confirms the domestic assault at 47th and Elliot Ave S reported last night resulted in a homicide. The second for Mpls this year. The original dispatch stated the victim was hit in the head with a hammer. The adult male son was taken into custody.

HUTCHINSON TOWNSHIP: School Bus Crash - 200th St & Major Ave - Emergency crews responded to a crash involving a school bus around 7:45 this morning. Multiple ambulances were requested but it appears that all injuries are minor

About 6:15 a.m., stabbing at the LRT station. 350 N 5th St, Target Field Station Metro Transit PD observed on camera a machete on the floor, along with blood on the floor. MTPD said there was a fight with 4 BM. Suspect: BM, white t-shirt. Train was taken out of svc for biohazard

Firefighters report they've made some progress in the initial fire unit and were working to extinguish the rest of the blaze. Unknown how many residents have been displaced but Red Cross was requested by officers to be notified
Burnsville Fire along with other South Metro Depts. on scene of an apartment fire near 35W and Burnsville Pkwy. We're not sure of cause or injuries but flames appear to have affected at least 3 floors.
Buses have been requested to house evacuated residents. EMS was treating one person on scene for an asthma attack but unknown yet if there are other injuries
Officers inside are reporting they can't gain access to the third floor due to the heavy smoke. Firefighters are now inside as well and working to evacuate the building. Another building nearby is also being evacuated.
