A man is hurt after crashing his car on Highway 59 near 297th street at 10:33 p.m. on Sunday. 18-year-old Malcolm Cabaniss-Smith of Hoffman, Minnesota was in a 2002 Chevrolet Impala when he crashed on the highway. Road conditions were icy at the time.

Police are working to determine what led up to a crash and shooting in Brooklyn Park late Thursday night. Authorities said one person was taken to the hospital after the incident.

St. Paul: One person is in serious condition and a firefighter was hurt after a house fire in St. Paul early Thursday morning. Firefighters were called to the 1800 block of Lacrosse Avenue around 2 a.m. after a neighbor reported the fire.
Rothsay: A man is in jail this morning after leading officers on a high speed chase. Wilkin County Deputies responded to a driving complaint call at 5:25 p.m. on Tuesday. The complaint reported that a vehicle was swearving on I-94 and got off at Rothsay before heading north on Wilkin County Road 52.
University of Minnesota police are investigating a death that happened inside of a campus building Tuesday night. The investigation is centered on the Mechanical Engineering Building on the 100 block of Church Street Southeast.
Authorities say the death last week of a 71-year-old Hibbing woman has been ruled a homicide. The St. Louis County Sheriff's Office says Courtney Lee Fenske was found dead in her home just southeast of Hibbing last Wednesday. Sheriff's deputies found Fenske's body while doing a welfare check.

Authorities say a 19-year-old man was hurt in a single-vehicle rollover crash near Alexandria Saturday night, and alcohol is suspected to be a factor.
Forest Lake: Two homes were destroyed in a Saturday night fire in Forest Lake. According to fire officials, crews responded to the five-alarm fire on the 1100 block of 9th Avenue SW. Heat and flames caused extensive damage to the house adjacent to the original structure, but there were no injuries to the residents or to responding crews.

A cab driver was held at gunpoint and at knife point in an attempted robbery in Minneapolis. On Nov. 10 the cab driver, Abshir Abbas, caught the entire incident on the video camera installed in his taxi.

A 17-year-old boy was killed when a semi rear-ended his horse and buggy on Highway 210 in central Minnesota Thursday morning. According to the Minnesota State Patrol, the horse and buggy were traveling westbound on Highway 210 in Bartlett Township around 7:19 a.m. when a semi traveling in the same direction rear-ended them.
